Dr. Tredell Dorsey
Currently, Dr. Tredell Dorsey is the Owner and CEO of Dorsey Training Solutions. Tredell trains athletes of all ages in speed, flexibility, core, balance , strength and build confidence.
Prior to his post as Sports Performance Director at Dorsey Training Solutions, Tredell Dorsey served as the Director of Strength and Conditioning at the University of Central Florida (3 years) ,Head Strength and Conditioning Coach at Cleveland State University (3 years) and Alabama State University for 3 years, where he was responsible for overseeing strength and conditioning regimens for 350 student-athletes. Tredell Dorsey made a significant mark on the athletic department by effectively using strength and conditioning to reduce injuries which in turn caused insurance costs to drop significantly. In addition to successfully training football, men’s basketball, and track athletes—all of which won conference titles—Dorsey designed two strength and conditioning facilities. One facility opened fall 2010; the other is scheduled to open in fall 2012.
Prior to his stops at CSU and ASU, Tredell Dorsey served as the Assistant Athletic Director for Strength and Conditioning at Delaware State University. There, he was responsible for overseeing the operations, maintenance and care of the 17,000 square foot training facility while ensuring that each of the 450 student-athletes had an opportunity to train vigorously and systematically – a feat that had never been accomplished at the University. As a member of the Senior Athletics Staff, Coach Dorsey assisted in the development of comprehensive life skills training workshops as well as implemented the Delaware State University Voter Registration Initiative. VOTE! DSU successfully registered all age-eligible student athletes and worked with other departments to register members of the student body.
Beyond having solid experience in the collegiate environment, Tredell Dorsey, who has held positions at Georgia Tech (ACC) and Georgia State University (CAA) as an Assistant Director of Player Development and the Director of Strength and Conditioning respectively, served as the Director of Player Development at Velocity Sports Performance. At Velocity, Dorsey trained elite and professional athletes and was responsible for supervising a staff of three; marketing the facility; and appearing on the local news station monthly to promote fitness. Tredell Dorsey secured and headed up the performance training contract for the Memphis Xplorers Arena II Football team and several of the NFL combine athletes he trained while at Velocity are currently playing professionally in the United States and abroad.
As a sought after expert in his field, Tredell Dorsey is an accomplished fitness/performance writer and called upon several times a year to speak at various athletic performance events. He also served as the technical director for the 2004 Nike Grid Iron marketing campaign where he worked with Michael Vick, Brian Urlacher, LaDainian Tomlinson, and Larry Fitzgerald.
Tredell Dorsey has is Ed.D in Organizational Leadership, certified by the Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association as a Master Strength and Conditioning Coach, USA Weightlifting, USA Track & Field, and several other performance education organizations. He’s a very well known fitness, and performance expert.
