The Amazing Cave Rescue
Cave Rescue! I’m very happy to see the way the Thai community came together for this cave rescue mission for the 12 boys and the assistant coach. As I watch the special on @ABC2020 Triumph In THAILAND I’m seeing so much love and courage exhorted from different ethnicities and genders that made a huge difference. Its amazing the power of positive thinking and what we can do when (all) people come together as one. The resources that we have as a nation is unbelievable and we need to start coming together more so we can have more positive outcomes such as this.
The amazing thing is that The navy Seals came up with 3 solutions:
- The Kids Swim out with the divers.
- Drill a Hole in the top of the mountain
- Do nothing and wait for the rain season to be over which would be October!
They decided on Option #1. Which was an exceptional decision which deemed to be a SUCCESS!. The Cave could take up to 5 hours to get though according to one of the team members, so just imagine how long it would take to get out with water submerging all around you while in the dark and not knowing how to swim. The Navy Seals organized and executed all of this in a small window of time. This international dive team successfully got the first boy out around 5:45am and 3 more later that day then the next two days they completed a successful rescue mission.
While watching this program I’ve learned that the Navy Seal that died didn’t drown he actually stopped breathing for reasons still unknown. He was found by one of his fellow seals who tried to resuscitate him but was unsuccessful. He was a husband, father, leader, and volunteer to help others. My heart goes out to his family.
